Still The One

I married my best friend nine years ago. It was hot. Don't ever let your kid(s) get married in July.


John and I are both from Malad. We met in high school. I thought he was the biggest dork. His feelings for me where mutual. I really have no idea how/when things changed. One day he's making fun of me in gym because I suck at basketball and the next he's taking me to my Junior Prom. Whatever.

We wrote his entire mission. No, I did not wait for him. I had fun. Had a few flings. Which never got me a kiss. It was Rexburg so I assume those boys thought I wanted eternal companionship. I just wanted a little lip action. Sigh.

But I'm so glad John wanted me. At times, I think he's better to me than I am to him. I'm so glad I chose him.  He once wrote me a poem. It went like this: 
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Your the best in the world
Except at UNO.
So romantic. I don't know how many games we played and he won every single one. And I was being a sore loser. I still have the paper it was written on....I love you, John!

    2. My sister got married July 12, as well. 26 years ago. In Phoenix. So, trust me, the hot could be worse!

    Bountiful Temple.
    I couldn't have done Phoenix! And don't be too bitter. I had to tell the photographer to stop taking pictures. My makeup was melting off and the slip that made my dress poof out was sticking to my legs from all the sweat. Yuck!

    John actually wanted to get married in June but I refused because of that stupid song from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. He!

    We were Mt. Timp and I thought it looked similar. I have a whole story behind mine. And we've decided to celebrate the end of July, anyway...

    Mine was wind and rain and sun and heat, so I don't think I fared any better!

    I missed this whole story because I'm too loud. I'm glad I got to read it at least. I'm going to try and pull you out a bit more (if you don't mind)! I wanna know you if you say things like "I just wanted a little lip action!" LOL

    Ha! I, too, want to hear the lip action comments! Love the UNO poem! Reminds me of when RJ and I were dating, our game was Speed. He even made a scoreboard on photoshop for us...no poems though!
